Laroma Coffee Co. was established in early 2002 by Mark Hawes. Based in Hamilton, Mark and his wife Tania have now been supplying premium quality coffee to the local market for 6 years.
In 2005 the husband-wife team took the plunge and opened a cafe, both to promote the Laroma brand, and to keep in touch with their clients needs. Now employing 8 staff, both the cafe and roastery are thriving.
Originally roasting with a 10kg Toper, in 2005 Mark discovered a beautiful 1942 Probat in San Francisco, a german-engineered 15kg drum roaster. After some reconditioning, and a long trip to New Zealand, the Probat now takes pride of place in our brand new roastery. With such a magnificent roaster, watched over by Mark's finely tuned senses, Laroma's coffee blends truly are hand-crafted works of art.
